Marion K. Turnbull, 100, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2013, at United Helper’s Riverledge in Ogdensburg, NY

Marion was born in Ogdensburg on September 6, 1913, the daughter of Captain George and Jane Kinch. She attended Bishop Conroy grade school and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in June 1931. Following graduation, she was employed as a bookkeeper at Madden Coal Corp. for 15 years and later by the NYS Dept. Transportation from which she retired in 1975, after 26 years of service. On July 12, 1945, she married Webb Turnbull. They resided at 719 Lafayette Street for their married life. Marion was predeceased by her husband in April 1972 and her sister, Elizabeth Norman, in 1990.

Mrs. Turnbull is survived by her daughter, Jane and Robert (Turnbull) Donahue of Eugene, Oregon; her son, Paul and Rosella Turnbull of Ogdensburg, NY; her grandchildren, Timothy Donahue, Michael and Holly Donahue of Eugene Oregon; Evan Turnbull and Wendy Morley of Ogdensburg, NY; William Bruyere II of Phoenix, Arizona; Marcie Turnbull and Jason Knapp of Ogdensburg, NY; and Jillian Bruyere of New York City; her great-grandchildren Emily, Keean, Kylie and Zaden Donahue of Eugene, Oregon; and Maxwell Morley, Sloane Turnbull and Vada Knapp of Ogdensburg, NY.

Marion enjoyed luncheons with her friends, puzzlebooks, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune and the occasional Whiskey Sour.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside reading will be held at St. Mary’s cemetary onFriday, October 4, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Frary Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Ogdensburg Rescue Squad.
