NAC roundup: Canton swimmers defeat OFA, 111-59

CANTON — Angela Domena and Dasha LaPoint each won two events to lead the Canton swim team to a 111-59 victory over Ogdensburg Free Academy in an Northern Athletic Conference meet on Wednesday.

Domena claimed the 200-yard individual medley and the 100 freestyle for Canton (4-0).

LaPoint won the 500 freestyle and 100 butterfly for Canton.

Julia Mullin won the 200 freestyle for the Blue Devils (3-2).

GIRLS SOCCER

GOUVERNEUR 3, MALONE 2

Belle Hall scored an unassisted goal in the 68th minute to give the Wildcats (6-2, 5-2) a Central Division triumph over Malone in Gouverneur.

Emily Bush scored the other two goals for the Wildcats.

Lillian Gishey and Hannah Perry scored for Malone (7-2-1, 6-1-).

MORRISTOWN 4, CLIFTON-FINE 0

Hailey Whitmarsh scored three goals to lead the Green Rockets past Clifton-Fine (0-7) in a West Division game in Morristown.

Jessie Geddes also scored for Morristown (1-5-2).

Sam Green stopped 10 shots for the shutout.

CHATEAUGAY 3, TUPPER LAKE 0

Hannah Cook scored two goals as Chateaugay defeated the Lumberjacks (4-5-1, 4-3-1) in an East Division contest in Tupper Lake.

Brianna Cook also scored for the Bulldogs (8-0-1, 7-0).

BOYS SOCCER

EDWARDS-KNOX 4, HERMOn-DEKALB 0

Dylan Jeannate led Edwards-Knox with two goals in a West Division win over the Demons (1-8-1, 1-6-1) in a West Division game in DeKalb Junction.

Derek Clark and Caleb Rowe also scored for the Cougars (6-4, 5-4).

Richard Finnerty made 11 saves for the shutout.

VOLLEYBALL

CANTON 3, TUPPER LAKE 0

Beth Pearson produced nine kills to lead Canton to a 25-17, 25-15, 25-17 sweep of the Lumberjacks (2-8) in a nonleague match in Tupper Lake.

Colleen Barkley scored 11 points, including seven aces, for Canton (4-6).

The Golden Bears’ Rachel Sanderson tallied seven points.
