C-P girls rally to tie B-M, M-W holds off SLC

SOUTH COLTON - The Colton-Pierrepont varsity girls soccer team rallied to claim a 1-1 overtime tie with Brushton-Moira in an NAC East Division matchup at Swift Field on Thursday.

The visiting Lady Panthers (6-1-2, 5-1-2) opened the scoring when Madison Rowe finished off a play set up by Jenna Dufrane 25 minutes into the second half but Madison Gregg pulled the Lady Colts (3-6-1, 2-5-1) even with two minutes left in regulation off an assist from Andrea Aldous.

Kathryn Miller handled 10 of the shots she faced working the C-P crease while Ashley DeBeer posted 14 stops for B-M.

In the other two NAC East Division girls soccer matchups on Thursday, Madrid-Waddington outlasted St. Lawrence Central 2-1 and Chateaugay dropped St. Regis Falls 13-0.

M-W 2, SLC 1: In Brasher Falls, the Lady Yellowjackets got on the board first when Desiree Pryce scored unassisted in the 25th minute of the game. M-W went ahead 2-0 with under five minutes left in regulation after Kaleigh Field converted from Blake Orosz but the Lady Larries pulled to within one just over a minute later when a shot into the area by Lindsey Thayer bounced into the back of the net off a M-W defender for an own goal.

Ariana Ramsey posted 18 saves backstopping the win as the Yellowjackets improved to 4-6-1 overall and 4-5 in the East. Haleigh Agans handled 17 shots for the Lady Larries (2-8, 2-6).

Chateaugay 13, SRF 0: At St. Regis Falls, the visiting Lady Bulldogs (.9-0-1, 8-0-0) broke the game open with five goals during an eight-minute span of the first half. Danielle Charland anchored the winning effort with two goals and two assists. Brianna Cook struck for a pair of goals while Abby Barnes, Katie Beach, Taylor Winch and Courtney Yando each logged a goal and assist while Hannah Cook fashioned three helpers. Kennedy Boyea, Kayley Whyte and Abby Cowan each scored a goal and shared crease duties in backstopping the shotless shutout. Sara Brockway made 19 saves for the Lady Saints (0-9, 0-7).
