OFA Girls nipped by Salmon River

FORT COVINGTON - OFA made a concerted effort to reverse a first round loss to Salmon River in visiting the Shamrocks in NAC Central Girls Soccer action on Thursday. But SR managed the lone goal of the game when Becca Leroux converted off an assist from Miranda David midway through the first half.

Wraven Sunday handled the 10 shots in the shutout as Salmon River improved to 3-7 overall and 3-5 in the division. Jordan Marcellus collected 15 stops for the Lady Blue Devils (2-8, 2-7).

SR JV’s 3 - OFA 2: The Blue Devils struggled with the smaller dimensions of the SR field but regrouped to rally from a 3-0 deficit early in the second half.

Left wing Kiera Johnson brought OFA back into the game scoring at 8:55, assisted by striker Lexi Kennedy. At 18:43 Kennedy scored with a header after a shot by Johnson deflected off the left post. Alicia Garcia handled six shots in goal for OFA.

Canton 3 - Massena 1: The Lady Bears (7-3, 5-3) received goals from Emma Collins from Emily Pinckney, Bailey Hurlbut from Tori Daley and Kali Frank from Mary Kate Mace.

Iastha Porter finished off a play set up by Serena Hall for Massena (4-5, 3-5).

Potsdam 6, N-N 0, Nettie Rishe scored from Kalie Grant in both halves as Potsdam climbed to 9-0-1 and 7-0-1 in the division. Grant went on to add a goal to her two assists and Bre Sapp made four saves in posting her 10th shutout straight shutout.

Meg Plumb turned in a scrappy 26-save performance for N-N.
