CANTON - Nicholas A.J. Steenkamer, 20, of 525 E. Hayward St., Ogdensburg, was indicted Friday by a St. Lawrence County grand jury for second-degree rape and second-degree criminal sexual act, both Class D felonies.

He was arrested Monday at 12:08 p.m. by Ogdensburg police.

The charges stemmed from an alleged Sept. 25 incident involving a 13-year-old Ogdensburg girl.

He is being held on $10,000 cash bail/$20,000 bond in St. Lawrence County jail, Canton.

He is represented by attorney Bradford C. Riendeau, Watertown. The indictment negated a preliminary hearing scheduled in Ogdensburg City Court on Friday.
