POTSDAM - Over 30 artists around St. Lawrence County are opening their workspaces for the public to visit on Veterans’ Day weekend, Nov. 9 through Nov. 11.

SLC Arts publishes a free brochure so anyone can take a free self-guided tour and meet potters, painters, jewelers, fiber artists, photographers, and more in their own communities. In the Waddington, West Potsdam, and Potsdam area, here are some of the tour highlights:

Over on the shores of the St. Lawrence River in Waddington, Artworks Creperie displays work from a variety of local artists including jewelry, pottery, and paintings.

Lamar Bliss and Susan Heberling will be sharing a site out in West Potsdam. Bliss will be selling yarn which she prepared from her sheep including handdyeing and handspinning it herself, as well as items knit from this wool. Heberling will be displaying sculptural work from gourds, wood, and more.

Visitors to Irja Boden’s studio in Downtown Potsdam can participate in making a collage with her. Boden will be one of six artists displaying and demonstrating at Snell Hall in Downtown Potsdam, including Radmila Zuman, Sara Lynch, Christina Adams, Isaac Snell, and Virginia Burnett. Other sites in Potsdam include Sharon H.J. Cheng, Willow Tree Landscaping, and Becky Harblin.
