BENCH WARRANT - MASSENA - Village police picked up Devin J. Riley, 18, of 68 Fayette Road, Massena, on a bench warrant at 4:52 p.m. Thursday on Parker Avenue. He was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Riley was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $1,000 cash.

The warrant, signed by Acting Massena Village Justice James M. Crandall, was issued on Sept. 30. It alleged Riley, also listing an address of 110 Woodlawn Ave., Massena, had violated the conditions of his release under the supervision of a probation department. It alleges Riley was sent four letters from the probation department scheduling appointments, and he failed to appear for any of the appointments. “The defendant has made it clear by his inaction that he will not comply with this department,” probation officials suggested in a uniform court report dated Sept. 19.

Police said while Riley was being processed on the warrant he was found to be in possession of a marijuana cigarette.
