Samaritan Medical Center has canceled its elective surgeries today, due to an HVAC system malfunction in the patient pavilion.
According to a news release from the hospital, 830 Washington St., the malfunction caused hot water to leak from the system into the hallways on the first floor near the cafeteria and main lobby. Clean-up crews and HVAC professionals are on-site to repair the system.
There is no time frame for repairs.
No concerns over safety of patients have been expressed. Patients and visitors are encouraged to enter the hospital through registration while clean-up and repairs continue.
