Hermon-DeKalb Boys Soccer Denies Hammond In Northern Athletic Conference West Division; Harrisvlle stays unbeaten


DEKALB JUNCTION - Ryan Brown scored the game winning goal on a penalty kick, after a handball call, as Hermon-DeKalb posted a 3-2 victory over Hammond on Thursday in NAC West soccer action.

The penalty shot in the 67th minute came after Alex Folkesson scored unassisted in the 62nd minute for Hammond to tie the score at 2-2. “It was a nice win for us. We worked hard today,” said H-D coach Marty Amo.

Payton Frisina scored from Zech Cunningham-Davidson in the 8th minute for Hammond (3-9-1, 3-7-1 NAC West). The Demons (2-9-1, 2-7-1 NAC West) would answer with two goals before halftiome as Cameron Hance scored from Patrick Woodrow and Dylan Burwell in the and Brown connected from Woodrow in the ninth and 11th minutes for a 2-1 advantage.

Riley O’Donnell made seven saves for H-D and Nick Jewitt and Tristen Simons combined for 10 saves for Hammond.

Harrisville 3, Clifton-Fine 1: Tim Fowler scored from Nate Weaver, Weaver connected from Colby LaPlatney and Justin Hartle produced an unassisted goal for Harrisville (11-0-1, 10-0-1). Jonah Trembley scored from Alberto Rubio for Clifton-Fine (0-12-1, 0-11) which went into halftime down 2-1.Zane Mono had six saves for the Pirates and Jordan Planty made 15 saves for C-F.
