The Potsdam Public Museum is looking for help identifying the children in this 1950s-era photo taken at Potsdam State Teachers College’s Congdon Campus School. The Campus School was a ‘practice school’ for aspiring teachers. It was named after Potsdam Normal School President Randolph T. Congdon.Until the early 1950s, the Campus School was the village’s only elementary school. In 1980, the school was moved to Merritt Hall and its name was changed to the Campus Learning Center. The Learning Center closed in 1994. This picture was taken at the back of Snell Hall; the children are facing the Campus School. Anyone who knows the identities of any of these pupils can contact the Potsdam Public Museum at 265-6910 or at museum@vi.potsdam.ny.us. The museum, 2 Park St., is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
