The letter from Mr. Montondo in Wednesdays paper was most interesting. I think I have an answer for him.
I do suspect that one of the answers to he GOPs supposed problems is the fact that our president does not have the skin color they prefer. How sad. When will the GOP enter the current century?
I was a registered Republican for more than 50 years until, in 2000, I realized I could no longer believe their ideas of how things should be. Things were not good.
Poor people were being ignored by the millions, and still are, thanks to the likes of the Tea Party. Makes one wonder what additions they have made to their tea before drinking it.
I vividly remember being a child in the middle of the Great Depression of the 1930s. I recall receiving the impression that all the efforts FDR was making to help the countrty were wrong and to be rejected. How sad.
Northern New York was an extremely strong GOP area. Most people accepted the garbage the GOP handed out.
It seems that many on the extreme right do not believe that they are their brothers keeper, nor do they understand that the uninsured have no choice but the emergency room when they need serious medical care. These misguided forget that the taxpayer pays the bill, and the bill is much larger for ER than it is under the Affordable Care Act.
Another sad fact is that thousands, perhaps millions of Americans do not understand that the Affordable Care Act and what has been called ObamaCare are one and the same.
With Mr. Montondo, I am tired of what the GOP is doing to our government and to our country. It must stop, and it must stop now.
