Sylvia Bertrand Halliday, 70, of Sarasota, FL, passed away on September 27, 2013. Born in Massena, she was the daughter of the late Isaie and Germaine Bertrand. Sylvia graduated from Massena High School in 1961. During high school, she met her future husband, Erick J. Halliday. Sylvia and Erick settled in Syracuse and enjoyed spending their leisure time in the Thousand Islands Region and on Siesta Key, FL. Sylvia found great pleasure in entertaining family and friends. She was fond of her pets and the wonders found in nature.

Sylvia was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Erick J. Halliday, in 2011. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Antoinette Halliday; her granddaughter, Mackenzie Halliday; three sisters, Donna Horan of Huntington Beach, CA, Ann Bergeron of Massena, NY and Madeleine Jackson of Coweta, OK; two brothers, Timothy of Syracuse, NY and Patrick of Wilmington, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call on Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Newell-Fay Manlius Chapel, 8171 Cazenovia Rd. (Rt. 92), Manlius from 4 pm - 7 pm. A service will immediately follow the calling hours.
