Massena woman faces felony count after shoplifting more than $1,000 worth of merchandise

GRAND LARCENY - MASSENA - Village police charged Desheila Renee Thomas-Jandrew, 37, of 144 South Raquette River Road, Massena, with a felony count of fourth-degree grand larceny at 10:25 p.m. Friday after responding to a shoplifting complaint at the Massena Walmart.

She reportedly walked past the last point of sale at the store without paying for a purse valued at $25; a jacket valued at $125 and 10 gas cards, each valued at $100.

Massena-based state police had charged Thomas-Jandrewwith petit larceny Aug. 20 following an investigation into the reported theft of gasoline from the Massena Country Club at 12:50 a.m. Aug. 23. Thomas-Jandrew reportedly pumped 10 gallons of gasoline, valued at $35, from a gas pump that had accidentally been left unsecured by country club employees. A witness observed the unusual activity in the early morning hours and was able to provide troopers with information that led to Thomas-Jandrew’s arrest. police said.

St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies charged a 40-year-old Waddington woman and Thomas-Jandrewwith petit larceny and sixth-degree conspiracy after they allegedly entered the Potsdam Walmart on Sept. 26, 2012 and stole a candle, a 2013 calendar, a Kerratin mist bottle and box of hair dye. The merchandise was valued at $34.80.
