OFA athletic director grateful

To the editor:

On behalf of the Ogdensburg City School District, Ogdensburg Free Academy Interscholastic Athletic Department, boys and girls cross-country programs and their respective coaches, I would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest and most heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority for their extremely gracious loan of the OBPA grounds to host our boys and girls modified and varsity home cross-country meets while the Kennedy Elementary School site, on which the cross-country course was previously located, was under construction during the 2013-2014 Fall Sports Season.

Without the benevolence of this organization and the willingness of their fine people to be so flexible and accommodating, the inconvenience we all faced, due to our “home site” being renovated would have been considerably greater, and much more challenging.

We are extremely fortunate that such a well-respected community organization has supported the OFA Interscholastic Athletic Programs, most notably the cross-country teams, during this transitional period. The kindness and generosity displayed helped provide the highest standard of quality, benefiting and promoting the healthy competitive nature of our nation’s future leaders.

Anthony E. Bjork

OFA Director of Athletics and Physical Education
