Enough with the mudslinging

To the editor:

Yes! We have had enough mudslinging from the Mary Rain campaign for St. Lawrence County district attorney. Rain should not be throwing any stones. She has a long history of poor behavior. Here are some facts about her.

Her poor behavior includes not paying her bills, being sued for malpractice in Cortland County by a police officer for failing to file papers and appear in court on his behalf, and the grievance panel that ruled her conduct unethical while she was an assistant district attorney in Oswego County.

As if that’s not enough, Rain fled the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office in the middle of a murder case involving an 11-year-old girl, after Rain fought and played games with the judge, dragging the case out and putting the little girl’s family through needless drama.

Rain then spent just three months as a prosecutor in Jefferson County before moving on to St. Lawrence County to become a public defender. She was in that job a year before she decided to run for city court judge in Ogdensburg, when she then accused the person who won the election of stealing her campaign logo!

And let us not forget Rain’s dismissal as the public defender for her inability to keep up with the work and treating her staff and clients poorly.

Is it just me, or does anyone else see the pattern here ? Mary Rain does not play well with anyone, anywhere she goes. This is not what St. Lawrence County needs. Just Google search Mary Rain’s name for the facts.

On Nov. 5, I am voting to keep integrity, even temperament, fair justice, and dedicated hard work in our county’s highest office by voting on line “A” to re-elect District Attorney Nicole Duve to her third term. And I would encourage others to do the same.
