Funeral services for Ethel Anderson , age 72, of Rosseel Street, Ogdensburg, will be held on Monday, October 14, 2013 at 11:00AM at Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2013 from 3:00 to 7:00PM at Frary Funeral Home on 515 Caroline Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Mrs. Anderson passed away Thursday morning, October 10, 2013 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Ethel is survived by her husband, James; two daughters, Jodi Reynolds and her companion, Bucky Bresett and Amy and her husband, Randy Petell; a son, Robert Anderson and his companion, Tricia Best; three brothers, Earl Jr. and his wife, Janet Sellers , of Ogdensburg, Roy and his wife, Joyce of California and Raymond (Pete) and his wife, Barb of Goldsboro, North Carolina; two sisters, Vivian Sharpe of Waddington and Jean Ford of Tupper Lake, NY; two half sisters, Rhonda McMahon and her husband, Danny of Ohio and Paula McMahon, and her husband, Ronald, of Ogdensburg and nine grandchildren. Mrs. Anderson is predeceased by three sisters, Barbara Sellers, Vaughn Morley and Patricia Wells and five brothers, Wayne, TJ, Billy and Ronnie Sellers and Lynn Thornhill.

Ethel was born on January 9, 1941, in Ogdensburg, the daughter of Earl and Ethel Wells Sellers. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1960. Ethel married James Anderson on September 11, 1967 with Rev. George N. Whittaker officiating in DeKalb Junction. Her and her husband owned and operated Oscar’s on Ford Street for over twenty eight years until they sold the restaurant and retired in 2009. Ethel had worked at Oscar’s for forty-five years.

Ethel enjoyed playing Bingo, going to the casino, Quick Draw, spoiling her grandchildren and making spaghetti.

Donations may be made in Ethel’s memory to the St. Lawrence Valley Chapter of Hospice and Palliative Care at 6805 US Route 11, Potsdam, NY 13676 and Claxton Hepburn Medical Center.
