Woodcrest Dairy, Murray’s Flooring, Dirty O earn Kiwanis Soccer wins

WoodCrest Dairy downed Bradley’s 2-0 in an exciting game Monday evening in Kiwanis Youth Soccer action where both ends of the field were action-packed.

The whole first half was back-and-forth battle between both teams mostly played in the middle of the soggy field. The second half started out the same until WoodCrest got some pressure getting in the offensive end resulting in a penalty shot.

Mandy Walker was called up from the fullback position to take the shot and sent it into the top right corner of the net, and gave WoodCrest a 1-0 lead. The game went back to the seesaw battle until Mandy Walker once again scored from the halfback position this time from about 18 yards out into the top left corner.

On the defensive side Karli Thompson and Nate Spooner played very well for WoodCrest.

Bradley’s also saw tough defense from Jada West and Allison Bennett who kept the ball out of the zone for most of the game, and Noah Mallette also had several great saves including a tough shot at the very end of the game.

Murray’s Flooring 1, Bradley’s 0: Grace Mills scored her first career goal in the fourth quarter with an assist from Aidan Murray. Murray’s defense was led by Molly Williams, Lara Martin and Bryce Lake protecting goalies Paige Davison and Jacob Martin.

Bradley’s played with a strong offense led by Siarra and Samara LaFlair. Grace Wills played both defense and offense, and took a shot on the goal.

Goalies, Connor Guasconi and Noah Mallette saved several attempts on their goal.

Murray’s Flooring 3, Langebrook 2: All three of Murray’s Flooring goals were scored by Bryce Lake with assists from Aidan Murray. Midfielders Landry LaPiene, Bryson Murray, and Dakota Mouthrup showed excellent skill both offensively and defensively. Langbrook was led by Kelsey Bennett who scored a goal and made an assist.

Alyvia Crosby continued her strong offensive play and scored a goal. Kade Marshall played solid defense and Rylie Showers made several nice stops in the goal.

Dirty Gringo 4, The Place 2: Trey LaBella, Jacob Farley, Cooper Garvey, and Mikey Bice each scored a goal for Dirty Gringo while Mia LaBella, Ella O’Neil, Kaydence Fraser, and Madison Brandy showed great hustle.

Justice McIntyre and Trent Lovely each scored for The Place who received several excellent saves from goalie Garrett Holland.
