DARLINGTON,SC - Jeanne Rowledge McMillen died Monday, October 21, 2013, at McLeod Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 on Friday, October 25, at Temple Free Will Baptist Church with burial following in Grove Hill Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home.
Born in Ogdensburg, New York, she was the daughter of the late William James Rowledge and the late Annette Sauve Rowledge. Jeanne graduated from the Boise Business Institute in New York and worked as a secretary for many years. She was a devoted housewife to her husband, Richard E. McMillen for close to fifty years. She enjoyed reading and scrapbooking, but most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She attended services at Temple Free Will Baptist Church and Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are their children, Michael McMillen and his wife Shannon of Lamar, Lynn Coleman and her husband Danny, Dawn McMillen-Kelly and her husband Chuck, and Tammy Boggs and her husband Gary all of Darlington; three grandchildren, Brandon Boggs, Taylor Boggs and Spencer Kelly; two brothers, Allen Rowledge and Wilfred Willie Rowledge and his wife Nancy of New York; two nieces, Nicole Rowledge and Jaime Hyde of New York; two nephews, Allen Rowledge, Jr. and Jeffrey Rowledge of New York; two great nieces and a great nephew. Special friends include Barbara Tadlock, Sandra Evans, Lisa Whiteaker, and Elsie Rutherford.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at Belk Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Chuck and Dawn Kelly, 2712 Cunningham Ct, Darlington.
