G. Keith Robinson


Funeral services for G. Keith Robinson, age 90 of Ogdensburg will be held Friday (Nov 8, 2013) at 1:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn Sullivan officiating. His place of rest will be at Foxwood Memorial Park.

Calling hours will be held Thursday from 3:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Mr. Robinson passed away Tuesday (Nov 5, 2013) at the Riverledge Healthcare Facility where he has been a resident since 2011.

Surviving are his two daughters Linda Brown & her husband George of Morristown and Penny Robinson of Clifton Springs NY; four grandchildren David Brown of Morristown, Robin Castro & her husband Manuel of Charlotte NC, Carrie Myers & her husband Bob of E. Amhurst NY, Leigh Wingert & her husband Mark of Buffalo; great-grandchildren Miquel & Eric Castro; a daughter-in-law Pam Robinson of E. Amhurst NY and a special friend Jean Seeley of Ogdensburg.

He was predeceased by his wife Leona in 1997 and his son Wayne in 2000.

“Keith” was born on January 10, 1923 in Lisbon, NY a son of the late Archie & Hazel (Dezell) Robinson. He graduated from Lisbon High School in 1940 and entered the US Army during WWII from 1942 to 1945 when he received his honorable discharge. He then married Leona M. Darrow on Oct 4, 1945 at the First Baptist Church in Ogdensburg with Rev. Arthur Kelly officiating the couple’s marriage.

Keith was employed at Standard Shade Roller in Ogdensburg for a total of 45 years as their maintenance foreman in addition to owning and operating Robinson & Son Plumbing business for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ogdensburg where he served as Trustee & Deacon for many years, a Board of Director Member for the Ogdensburg Kiwanis Club since 1970 and was also named Kiwanian of the year in 1996, and was awarded the Hixson Fellowship Award in 1997, an executive Board Member of the Seaway Valley Council since 1960, a director of the Ogdensburg Boy Scouts and received the Silver Beaver Award, a member of the American Legion and Am-Vets for many years and was awarded the Citizen of the Year in 2009.
