A Watertown man faces a rape charge after he allegedly had sexual contact and intercourse with a child younger than 11 years old over a two-year period.
Jefferson County Sheriffs investigators on Monday arrested James J. Jones, 47, of 22222 Boundary St., on charges of first-degree rape and first-degree felony course of sexual conduct. He is accused of having sexual intercourse and oral sex with the child during several incidents in the town of Champion and other locations in Jefferson and Lewis counties.
Jones was arraigned in Brownville Town Court and remanded to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on no bail to await further court action.
