Ogdensburg’s third annual Holiday Light Up The Night parade marchers’ list is growing as the Nov. 23 event approaches.

“It’s going to be a great parade,” said City Clerk Kathleen A. Bouchard, a parade co-organizer. “I’m psyched.”

The event is sponsored by the Lisbon and Ogdensburg Lions Clubs in conjunction with the city.

The festivities begin at 5 p.m. at City Hall, with singer Amy Rivera of Waddington entertaining the crowd outside with Christmas carols, a sing-along with members of the Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club Chorus, and the Seaway Valley Prevention Council will begin serving hot chocolate to parade goers.

At 6 p.m. the parade kicks off from the Edgar A. Newell II Memorial Dome parking lot at Ogdensburg Free Academy and will run to City Hall. The parade will move down State Street - a new route replacing Ford Street.

So far, nearly 30 participants are on board to march, with more to come.

“We have people calling us daily,” Mrs. Bouchard said.

Committed to participate in the parade so far are: Lisbon Lions Club, Little Caesars Pizza, St. Lawrence County Clerk Mary Lou Rupp, Parkway Ford, PJs for Xmas, Salon 1020 and Ogdensburg Dance Center, Seaway Valley Prevention Council, St. Lawrence Valley Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union and State Farm Insurance.

Also: Kimro’s Medicine Place, U.S. Border Patrol, Walgreens Drug Store, volunteer fire departments from Lisbon, Brier Hill, Madrid, Heuvelton, Morristown, Waddington and Morley, and the Ogdensburg Fire Department and its mascot, Sparky, radio stations Mix/ YES FM 102, Wolf 95.3, Walmart, Price Chopper, Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad, the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department and the Ogdensburg Police Department.

To participate in the parade, call Mrs. Bouchard at 393-3540 or Roethel’s 393-4770.
