Funeral services for June K. Barr, age 88, of the Riverview Towers will be held on Monday, November 18,2013 at St. Mary’s Cathedral at 10:00AM with Rev. Joseph Morgan and Father Scott officiating. Burial will be in Ogdensburgh Cemetery after funeral services. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November at Frary Funeral Home at 515 Caroline Street from 2:00 to 4:00PM and 6:00 to 8:00PM. Mrs. Barr passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center.

June is survived by James Barr, Lucille Klein, William Barr and his wife, Kelly, Florence Stull, Kim Barr, Cecil Barr, Emily Wilson and her husband, Roger, all of Ogdensburg, Nancy Addison and her companion Matt Fox and Kelly Armstrong and her husband Tom of Lisbon; one brother, Jack Mitchell; fifty-two grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Alice at infancy and a son, Jackie at age two as well as four great grandchildren.

She was born on June 16, 1925 in Ogdensburg, the daughter of Carl and Mary Alice Chartrand Mitchell. She attended St. Mary’s school. She at one time had worked at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center and later at ACCO. She had worked a majority of her life at Barr’s Restaurant. She married James Barr at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ogdensburg on November 13, 1948 with Canon George A. Palmer officiating. He predeceased her in July 21, 1977.

She enjoyed playing bingo, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Donations may be made in her memory to the St. Lawrence Valley Chapter of the SPCA.

She will be sadly missed by all her friends at the Riverview Towers.
