Seasonal tenants opening at St. Lawrence Centre

MASSENA — With Black Friday and the start of the holiday shopping season right around the corner, several seasonal tenants have opened or will soon be opening at St. Lawrence Centre.

Progressive Imports has already opened and is now featuring an expanded product line including tin signs.

“They’re known for their blankets, but they’ve got more inventory this year,” St. Lawrence Centre Marketing Manager Ronald J. Patnode said.

Another longtime mall favorite, Hickory Farms, will have its inventory arrive next week.

Mr. Patnode said the shop, which specializes in specialty meats and cheeses, has a tentative opening date of Nov. 20.

Last year marked the first year St. Lawrence Centre housed the Twisted Turtle, and Mr. Patnode said it will return for this holiday shopping season.

Twisted Turtle, a specialty gift shop, which sells, clothing, candles, pictures frames, signs and more is planning a Dec. 1 opening.

“They were new last year and did very well,” Mr. Patnode said.

Another seasonal tenant, which has seen its business grow each year, is Go Calendars & Go Games.

It is currently open with an inventory that claims the largest selection of calendars in St. Lawrence County, as well as an expanded selection of games.

Also opening soon is BD Entertainment. While Mr. Patnode said he’s not sure when that business is opening, he’s expecting it to be in the very near future.

Mr. Patnode said BD Entertainment is expected to remain open in the mall through June, possibly longer.

The business, which specializes in renting bounce houses and other outdoor entertainment activities, will have several set up indoors at the mall.

“He bought a couple of bounce houses specific for indoor activities,” Mr. Patnode said of the owner, adding that the location next to Sears also includes a birthday party room that will be available to rent.

With BD Entertainment, combined with Legacy Paint ball, Time-out Arcade and St. Lawrence Centre Arena, Mr. Patnode said the mall has become an “entertainment complex.”

And on weekends from Black Friday through Christmas, Mr. Patnode said the mall will be hosting what its calling a “Christmas Vendor Suite,” next to Nice Nails.

“This is an opportunity for local vendors to come in and sell their products or services at a vendor table,” Mr. Patnode said. “By combining them all in one space, it’s almost like having another store.”

Mr. Patnode said vendor space is available in the suite for $25 per day, noting it will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

“It gives vendors an opportunity to come in and sell their product to a large audience during the holiday season.

Vendors interested in booking space in the suite should contact Lindsey Breitbeck at 764-1001.
