Two men facing DWI charges


The following were charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

n Michael C. Turk, 26, of Indian Head Park, Ill., was charged by Potsdam Village Police with aggravated driving while intoxicated Friday night.

Police said Mr. Turk turned onto Sandstone Drive in Potsdam from Pine Street, clipping another vehicle whose driver was Davie L. Huebner-Lane.

Mr. Turk’s blood alcohol content was 0.19 percent. A charge of aggravated DWI is lodged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or higher.

Police said Mr. Huebner-Lane was found to have a suspended driver’s license and was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation.

Both men are to return to Potsdam Village Court.

n Shane E. Belknap, 23, of 1323 State Highway 37C, Bombay, was charged by state police early Saturday morning. Police said Mr. Belknap was stopped on East Orvis Street, Massena, for failure to signal. Mr. Belknap’s blood alcohol content was 0.09 percent. A BAC of 0.08 percent or higher constitutes intoxication under state law.
