Runners take part in 30th Turkey Day Run; Castorland man wins race


More than a thousand people ran in the Turkey Day Run on Thursday morning as the annual event marked its 30th year.

Competitors had to run on slick roads in freezing temperatures to complete the 5K race.

The race is organized annually by the Watertown Family Y, and is one of its most popular events during the year.

The overall fastest finisher was Logan Kempney, 19, of Castorland, who completed the race in 16 minutes, 57 seconds. The fastest woman was Lauren Sischo, 26, of Southborough, Mass., who finished in 14th place with a time of 20 minutes, 37 seconds.
