Carol A. Thompson, 75 of Weedsport and formerly of Ogdensburg,NY passed away peacefully, after a long courageous battle with cancer, early Friday morning November 29,2013, in the Matthew House, with her loving family at her side.

She was born on January 5, 1938 in Ogdensburg, the daughter of the late Martin and Gloria Kasten Fraser and resided most her life there, until moving more recently to Weedsport to be closer to her family. Carol graduated from OFA, Class of 1956 and was a member of the St. John’s Episcopal Church.

She worked for many years at the Ogdensburg Psychiatric Center and later became owner and proprietor of Erwin’s Motel on Riverside Dr. In her later years, Carol worked for several years at both Cedars Nursing Home and Wal Mart. Carol was most happy, the times spent at the ocean and thoroughly enjoyed the many winters spent with her late husband Richard Thompson in Zephyrhills,FL. They resided previously on Black Lake Rd and Riverside Dr.

She is survived by her daughter Melody (Carl) Reynolds of Romulus, grand-daughter , Carol (Ray) Pond Jr., great-grandson Alexander Pond, all of Jordan,NY, a brother Martin (Dorothy) Fraser III of Watertown as well as several nieces and nephews.

As were Carol’s wishes there will be no calling hours. At the convenience of the family a joint memorial and committal service in Ogdensburg, will be held in the spring for both Carol and Richard .

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Carol’s memory to the Matthew House, 43 Metcalf Dr.,Auburn,NY 13021. Arrangements are by the Pettigrass Funeral Home of Auburn.
