Clarkson (10-3-1) is preparing to face rival St. Lawrence University (8-6-2) in a pair of ECAC Hockey games this weekend.
The matchup features one of the top offensive teams in the nation in SLU, which averages 3.81 goals-per game, against one of the top defensive teams in the nation in Clarkson, which allows an average of 2.14 goals.
Clarkson has had the upper hand, of late, in the series, going 7-1-1 against the Saints over the past three seasons. That's Clarkson's best stretch in the rivalry since it went 15-1 from 1992-99.
Clarkson has an overall lead of 118-65-10 and is 20-6-2 at Cheel Arena, the site of Friday's game. Saturday's game will be at Appleton Arena, where Clarkson is 3-0 the last three years.
This week's interviewees are head coach Casey Jones, who displays a sense of humor about the rivalry, Norwood native Alex Boak and forwards Will Frederick and Matt Zarbo, who each have scored four goals in their careers against the Saints.
