To The Editor:
The inaugural Ogdensburgs Own Movember Walk took place Saturday to raise money in support of mens health awareness through the Richard E. Winter Cancer Center. Over $1,000 was raised in this effort, which would not have been possible without the backing of our sponsors and walkers. We would like to thank Northern Physical Therapy for providing a warm starting point for the walk; The Place for hosting our festivities and donating appetizers and pizza for the walkers; Pepsi-Cola Ogdensburg Bottlers for providing T-shirts; 95.3 The Wolf for advertising and door prizes; Michael Guimond for his DJ services; and The Journal for their continued support and publication of our events.
Thirty walkers turned in pledges and walked one mile on a cold Saturday morning to show their support for Movember. Throughout the month of November, men grow their moustaches to raise awareness for mens health issues such as prostate and testicular cancer while collecting pledges in support of this. Andy Halpin raised the most pledge dollars, while Bryce Lake sported the best moustache, and Zach Dodge grew the worst moustache.
CGSW Racing would like to thank everyone for continuing to support our mission of Getting the North Country Moving. You can find us on Facebook to watch for upcoming races and events in Ogdensburg and Northern New York.
