For a second straight season the Clarkson University men's hockey team stunned St. Lawrence University with a third-period comeback at Cheel Arena.
Clarkson (11-3-1 overall, 5-2 ECAC Hockey) scored three goals in the third period Friday and came back from a one-goal deficit to beat SLU 5-4. Last season Clarkson trailed 3-0 after two periods and rallied with three goals in the third to salvage a tie.
The Golden Knights are now 8-1-1 in their last 10 games against the Saints and the teams meet again at 7 tonight in Appleton Arena, where Clarkson has won three straight games and four of its last five.
SLU (8-7-2, 2-3-2) was up 3-2 heading into the third period.
Clarkson tied the game 3-3 when Jarrett Burton one-timed a pass from Joe Zarbo past SLU goalie Matt Weninger at 6 minutes, 9 seconds of the third period.
Clarkson took the lead for good when Jeff DiNallo scored a power-play goal at 10:57.

Just 25 seconds after DiNallo's goal, Clarkson struck again on a shot from Troy Josephs to build a 5-3 lead.
SLU cut the lead to 5-4 with a power-play goal from Matt Carey at 17:59 but Clarkson held off a late surge to claim the win.

T.J. Moor and Simon Bessette scored goals in the first period for Clarkson.
Carey and Jeremy Wick each scored two goals for the Saints.
