Funeral services for Isaac “Calvin” Putney, age 89 of SH 37 Lisbon will be held at 11 am Tuesday Dec 10, 2013 at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Patrick Severson officiating. Burial will be at Martin Cemetery in Lisbon.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the funeral Home. Mr. Putney passed away at his home early Saturday morning (Dec 7, 2013) surrounded by his loving family.

Surviving is his wife of 63 years Eileen; a son Russell Putney & his wife Linda of Lisbon; two daughters Mary Putney of Lisbon & Aimee Putney of California; four grandchildren Joe, Chad, Jacob & Natalie Putney; a great-grandson Lukas; a brother Dale Putney & his wife Emily of Waddington; a sister Beverly Farrell of Kentucky along with many nieces, nephews & cousins.He was predeceased by four brothers Donald, Delmer, Mark & Lowell Putney.

Calvin was born on January 30, 1924 in Lisbon NY, a son of the late Leslie E. & Anna “Irene” (Clark) Putney. He attended Lisbon Country School and George Hall Trade School for his education. He married Eileen Robson on August 22, 1950 at the Waddington Parsonage. Calvin’s career first began as a farmer, and in 1952 he joined the Local #370 Carpenters Union where he worked for 25 years as a carpenter, assisting with major construction projects to include the development of the St. Lawrence Seaway. In 1977 he then became employed at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center where he also worked as a carpenter for the next 13 years. He retired in 1990.

Calvin was an active member and former Deacon of the Grace Presbyterian Church from 1970 to 2002, and a member of the local #370 Carpenters Union. He enjoyed boating, traveling, playing pool, woodworking and spending time with his family.
