After a long battle with cancer, Cynthia C. Bell, 64, of Lisbon, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2-4 PM at the Lawrence Funeral Home, Canton. Following the calling hours, a time of food and continued fellowship will be held at Sergi’s Restaurant in Canton from 4-6 PM. “Cindy” was born January 28, 1949 in Utica, NY. She was raised by her grandparents, the late John and Alice Kaine.

She was a 1967 graduate of Lisbon High School and later from SUNY Potsdam with a degree in teaching in 1971.

Surviving are her daughter, Marianne Mero and husband Joseph of Niskayuna, NY; a granddaughter, Ava Mero ; a sister, Connie Irvine of Ogdensburg; close friends, Joan and Nelson J Fadden of Lisbon; In-laws: Mary and Ron Denny, Alan, Lawrence and Kathy Bell, and Nancy Bell and Barbara and Vernon Tapper.

Cindy was an elementary teacher for Lisbon Central School for thirty three years, retiring in 2004. She also enjoyed her home, her flower gardens, several friends and neighbors.
