CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE - MADRID - Massena-based state police charged Amy L. Miller, 42, of Waddington with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance in a non original container, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a public highway and ticketed her for an equipment violation - inadequate exhaust following a traffic stop at 4:20 p.m. Friday following a stop on County Route 14 in the town of Madrid.

HARASSMENT - OGDENSBURG - Malone-based state police charged Edward L. Deshane, 36, of Ogdensburg with second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child at 3:10 p.m. Thursday in the city of Ogdensburg. Troopers said the charges stemmed from a domestic dispute complaint filed with troopers on Feb. 25 from the town of Bombay. State police were able to locate Deshane after members of the public saw his photo on the New York State Police Facebook page.Deshane was arraigned and taken to the Franklin County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.

ISSUING A BAD CHECK - FORT COVINGTON - Malone-based state police charged Shawn L. McGregor, 36, of Norfolk with three counts of issuing a bad check Friday stemming from an investigation into three checks passed on an account with insufficient funds Feb. 25 from the town of Fort Covington,

ONE INJURED - DICKINSON - Malone-based state police said one person was injured in a one-vehicle accident Friday on Taylor Road, near Route 11B, in the town of Dickinson. Troopers said the vehicle was operated by Shilo J. Puccia, 39, of North Lawrence.

PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENTS - CANTON - State police investigated a number of property damage accidents Friday and early Saturday morning around the region. Among those:

■ Melissa B. Wheeler, 27, of Fort Covington at 3:35 a.m. Saturday on Tupper Road, near Quain Road, in the town of Fort Covington.

■ Cameron D. Dennis, 18, of Madrid at 3:30 a.m. Saturday on state Route 345, near County Route 34, in the town of Potsdam.

■ Laurie J. Beamis, 55, of Norwood at 7:20 p.m. Friday on Old Market Road, near Shop Road, in the town of Stockholm.

■ Ryan A. Duquette, 17, of Nicholville at 6:56 p.m. Friday on Port Kent Road, near County Route 5, in the town of Dickinson.
