Massena girls hockey team blanks Bellows Free Academy

ST. ALBANS, Vt. - The Massena Central girls hockey earned a chance to gain top honors at the Bellows Free Academy after skating to a 2-0 decision over the host team in the opening round on Friday.

The Lady Raiders are slated to take on Essex in their second round game today. Essex fell 2-1 to Beekmantown in the other Friday matchup.

In the win over BFA, freshman Katie MacCuaig got the only goal Massena wound need when she converted off an assisst from Molly O’Connell 5:41 into the game. MacCuaig then sealed the win with an unassisted empty-net goal with 24 seconds left in regulation.
