A Watertown teen was charged Sunday with second-degree criminal contempt after he was accused by city police of sending text messages to a girl who held a stay-away order of protection against him.

Justin M. Cobey, 17, of 135 State Place, was arrested at 7:41 p.m. at 100 Main St., Glen Park. According to police, Mr. Cobey sent the messages to a 14-year-old girl who has had an order of protection issued in City Court against him since Nov. 13.

He was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and held on $250 cash bail pending arraignment in City Court.
