No news about Target data breach available at Watertown, Syracuse stores


Staff at Target stores in Watertown and Syracuse couldn’t reveal much about whether customers who shopped there between Nov. 27 and Dec. 15 could be affected by the data breach.

“We’re just telling our guests to check their credit card statements,” an associate at the Watertown Target on Towne Center Drive said Thursday.

The associate, who did not disclose her name, was unable to provide further information. Elisabeth C. Grimshaw, store team manager, was not available for comment.

In Syracuse, staff at the Target store at 3657 W. Genesee St. on Thursday was “working with everything to get it repaired and where it should be,” said Michael Raymond, store team leader. “That’s pretty much all I can say.”

Target’s communications media hotline was not operating Thursday, and no response was received to questions sent by email.

Customers who identify questionable charges on credit card statements associated with the breach can complete a New York State Security Breach Reporting Form. The document is available online at
