FORGED INSTRUMENT - MASSENA - Village police picked up Trista Ladue, 22, of 14 Malby Ave., Massena, on an arrest warrant at 2:14 a.m. Tuesday charging her with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. Details of the incident were not immediately available. She was arraigned by Acting Massena Village Justice James M. Crandall and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $20,000 cash or $40,000 bond.
GRAND LARCENY - MASSENA - Village police picked up Jamie L. Northrup, 36, of 351 East Orvis St., Massena, on an arrest warrant at 3 a.m. Tuesday charging her with fourth-degree grand larceny. She was also charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Police said the warrant was based on a shoplifting complaint from Walmart on Dec. 2 alleging Northrup and a second person had walked past the last point of sale at the store without paying for $1,341.12 worth of merchandise. The items in shopping cart reportedly ranged from groceries and clothing to electronics. She was arraigned by Acting Masssena Village Justice James M. Crandall and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
Northrup had been charged with petit larceny earlier this month for her role in the Dec. 3 theft of a 32-inch television from Sears at the St. Lawrence Centre mall in Massena. She had initially been held on $1,000 bail on that charge before being released under probation supervision.
AGGRAVATED DWI - MASSENA - Village police charged Michael C. Russell, 34,of 90 East Hatfield St., Massena, with aggravated driving while intoxicated and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle on a public highway and ticketed him for unsafe backing at 9:53 p.m. Monday on East Orvis Street. He reportedly backed into a vehicle near Softtails. Details of the incident were not immediately available, but the aggravated DWI count means Russells blood alcohol content was reportedly 0.18 percent of higher.
