The St. Lawrence Central boys hockey and Massena Central girls hockey Holiday tournaments both fell victim to the Ice Storm of 2013 over the weekend.

The Larries were slated to host NAC Division II rivals Norwood-Norfolk and the Islanders along with Section 7 foe Saranac Central. The tournament will not be resecheduled but the NAC matchups will be rescheduled at a date to be announced later.

The Massena girls were set to welcome Section 10 rival Potsdam Central along with Williamsville of Section 6 and Bellows Free Academy of Vermont. The tournament is not going to be rescheduled. Massena and Potsdam were already scheduled to face-off against each other this Saturday at the Massena Arena starting at 11:45 a.m.

School officials have also announced the rescheduling of the Cindy Brady Memorial Tournament at Heuvelton Central. Originally slated for last Friday and Saturday then moved to Monday and this Friday, it is now scheduled for this Friday and Saturday. The first-round matchups pit St. Lawrence Central against Lisbon starting at 9 a.m. and Colton-Pierrepont against the host Lady Bulldogs at noon. The consolation and championship games are slated for 9 a.m. and noon on Saturday.

Also suffering a second postponement on Monday was the North Country Invitational Wrestling Tournament at Gouverneur Central. It has been rescheduled to Tuesday, December 31, starting at 9 a.m.

Other Monday games that were wiped out by the lingering effects of the ice storm included an NAC Division II boys hockey game (Norwood-Norfolk at Franklin Academy), a non-league boys basketball game (Indian River at Potsdam), a non-league girls hockey game (Massena at Saranac Lake) and an NAC West Division boys basketball game (Hammond at Harrisville). Make-up dates will be announced at a later date.
