Continuing storm problems in Sackets Harbor have prompted village officials to set up an emergency center in the village hall at 112 N. Broad St.
The center, when fully set up, will be able to accommodate 75 people seeking alternative shelter. The village is making arrangements with the American Red Cross to help with food and bedding materials.
Because many roads in Hounsfield are still blocked by fallen tree debris, members of the Fire Department are picking up supplies for the shelter. It is expected to open later this afternoon.
