Sci-Tech to offer free full day of science

The Sci-Tech Center of Northern New York invites north country children and adults to join volunteers with the hands-on science museum for a full day of science and technology activities Saturday, beginning at the Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science and Technology, 500 S. Franklin St., Syracuse.

Attendees will meet at the Sci-Tech Center, 154 Stone St., and then a bus — which also is free of charge — will leave at 7:30 a.m. to head to the MOST for the Junior Cafe Scientifique. Breakfast will be served during that program, which will feature a lecture on the science of shipwrecks and their underwater images.

After that, people can explore the museum for 1 hours before the bus takes them to Le Moyne College, 1419 Salt Springs Road, Syracuse, for the Mini Maker Faire, a series of hands-on science activities for children and adults. The bus will return to Watertown at 5:45 p.m.

Preregistration for the free event is required and can be made by calling 788-2738.
