M-W maintains unbeaten East mark


MADRID - The Madrid-Waddington girls basketball team shook off a slugglish first quarter against visiting Tupper Lake as a 11-2 second quarter pulled the Jackets out of a 10-6 deficit and into a concerted pull-away to a 44-24 win.

Jenn King tallied 12 points and seven rebounds to pace M-W (9-2, 7-0 NAC East). Olivia Parmeter scored nine points while Kaleigh Field added eight and Desiree Pryce chipped in seven. Tess Knight contributed four assists and four points and Mary Young scored four points. Katie Zurek tallied 10 points for Tupper Lake (3-9. 2-7 NAC East).

Chateaugay 61, SR 36: Katie Beach led all scorers with 23 points followed by Abby Barnes with 13 and Brianna Cook with 10.Jaden Mitchell and Taylor Francis netted 11 points apiece for the Lady Shamrocks (4-6).

SRF 43, P-H 40 (OT): Jenna Susice (10 points, 9 blocked shots, 5 rebounds) tallied a 3-pointer at the end of regulation to tie the game at 38-38 while Madison Greenwood (19 points) scored four of the Lady Saints’ (3-4) five points and connected on one of her six three-pointers during the OT.. Brianah Work earned a double-double with 10 points and 20 rebounds.Kelsey Putnam had two three-pointers in tossing through a career-high 14 points for P-H (3-5).
