Heuvelton man charged with DWI


* HEUVELTON — State police on Tuesday charged Jeffery M. Kennedy, 28, of 55 Lisbon St., with driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor. He also was issued traffic tickets.

Police said that at 9:39 p.m. on Route 812 in Oswegatchie, after stopping Mr. Kennedy for a headlight that was out, they noticed an odor of alcohol. They said a breath test showed that he had a blood alcohol content of 0.09 percent. A BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. Mr. Kennedy was issued appearance tickets for Oswegatchie Town Court.

* NEWTON FALLS — State police on Sunday charged Warren E. Bullock, 54, of 21 Front St., with driving while intoxicated with a previous felony conviction in 10 years and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, both felonies. He additionally was cited with several traffic tickets.

Police said that at 11:05 a.m. on County Route 60 in the town of Clifton, Mr. Bullock was seen operating his vehicle with an expired inspection sticker. Police said they noticed an odor of alcohol in the vehicle and gave him a field sobriety test, which they said he failed. They said a breath test showed he had a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent, matching the state’s threshold for intoxicated driving. Police said this is Mr. Bullock’s third DWI.

He told police his license was suspended.
