ADAMS Town residents who experienced the recent lake-effect snowstorm are encouraged to share their stories at an event hosted by State Sen. Patricia A. Ritchie, R-Heuvelton, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the fire hall on North Main Street.
The free event will recognize volunteers in the Adams community who helped travelers in need during the snowstorm that left part of Interstate 81 closed in early January.
From the nearly 200 people taking refuge in the Adams firehouse, to the people who opened their homes to stranded motorists, there are so many stories of generosity and community that have come out of this recent storm, Mrs. Ritchie said in a prepared statement. Im calling on those who experienced the weather event whether they were helped or lent a hand to someone in need to share their stories to be featured at this special event being held to recognize the Adams community.
Those interested in sharing stories or pictures may email them to the senator at email@example.com.
