ALEXANDRIA BAY An Alexandria Bay man was arrested Sunday night on multiple charges in connection with an alleged altercation at his residence.
Joseph T. Gizzi, 47, of 46721 Route 1, was accused of obstructing the breathing of his girlfriend, whom police did not name, during an altercation. Police said he tried to prevent her from leaving the residence and when she tried to call police for help, he took her cell phone. Police also said a child was present at the time of the alleged incident.
Mr. Gizzi was arrested at his residence and charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, fourth-degree criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal obstruction of breathing.
He was transported to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and held pending arraignment in Alexandria Town Court.
