Chateaugay downs M-W

In an NAC East boys basketball game played on Monday, Chateaugay outscored Madrid-Waddington 51-41. Noah Bowes led the winning cause with 13 points followed by Chad Stalter and Martin with nine points apiece.

Zach Brock and TJ Gagnon anchored the M-W scoring with nine points each. David Odendahl tallied eight points. Jacob Barney and Aaron Armstrong netted six points each followed by Austin Lanning with three and Dakota Matthie with the other two.

The two NAC East varsity girls basketball matchups on Monday saw Madrid-Waddington beat Norwood-Norfolk 61-21 and Brushton-Moira stop St. Regis Falls 52-29.


PARISHVILLE - The Colton-Pierrepont Central boys and girls basketball teams gained an NAC East Division sweep on the road over Parishville-Hopkinton on Monday.

The Colts relayed a 31-20 halftime lead into a 63-39 decision over the Panthers as Zach Farr and Scott Boyce anchored the winning offense with 14 points each. Ethan Knight added 13 points followed by Riley Doyle with 11, Mark Dumas with six and John Angleberger with five.

Mike Burns paced the Panthers with seven points. Wyatt Snell and Hunter Charleson added six points apiece. Kobe Wells, Mike Cook and Lucas Snell chipped in five points each. Connor Sullivan and Mike Charleson both finished with two while Ryan Snyder tallied a free throw.

In the girls game, the Lady Colts reversed a 14-9 first-quarter deficit with a 16-5 second-quarter surge before going on to post a 51-41 win. Morgan Doyle fired tossed through a game-high 28 points in the winning effort. Courtney Marsh added 14 followed by Haylee Hennessy with four, Andrea Aldous with three and Kelsi Gilbert with two.

For the Lady Panthers, Miranda Collins tallied a team-high 14 points while Nicole White connected for the only three three-pointers of the game in an 11-point outing. Kelsey Putnam and Kodi Perkins contributed six points each and Mary Coventry accounted for the other four.
