Putney’s trifecta lifts Lisbon over NAC

LISBON - Lisbon rebounded from a setback to Edwards-Knox on Friday with a dramatic 54-53 nonleague win over Section 7’s Northern Adirondack Central School on Monday.

Jake Putney hit a three-pointer with three seconds left in regulation, following a Tristan Vine crunch time three, as the 12-4 Golden Knights rallied from a six-point deficit with just under 1:30 to play.

“This was a good win for us coming back from a loss,” said LCS Coach Sean Backus. “NAC is a good team and has some size. Both Jake and Tristan hit big shots.”

Jimmy Robinson generated eight of his 28 points in the second quarter of 28-28 halftime tie. Robinson also grabbed 17 rebounds. Putney tallied 11 points, eight boards and six assists while Kobe Jordan added seven points. Vine (five points) and Don Duprey (three points) each hit threes.

Scoring for Chateaugay native Nate Bilow’s Bobcats were: Ethan King and Josh Juntenen each with 12, Bailey Cross with 10, and Brady Smart with nine.
