■ LISBON — A chicken-and-biscuit dinner to benefit the Camp Laurent Maintenance Fund will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. March 8 in the White Church Community Hall, at Five Mile Line Road and Route 28. Takeout will be available. Dinner is $8.50 for adults or $5 for children under 10.

n CANTON — A poet who challenges and investigates language, history and race will kick off the spring installment of SUNY Canton’s Living Writers Series. Tyrone Williams will speak at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 26 in the Richard W. Miller Campus Center’s Kingston Theater. The event is free and open to the public.

n POTSDAM — The Canton Rotary Club will hold its annual Food-for-Food Charity Dinner on March 5at the 1844 House, Route 11, Potsdam. All proceeds will support the Church and Community Program food pantry. Tickets are $70 each. For more information, call 854-0780 or email rdegraaff@stlawu.edu
