NORFOLK A Chase Mills man is in jail and his ex-girlfriend will also be facing charges following a domestic dispute that was reported Feb. 23.
Aaron L. Maslin, 26, of 513 County Route 44, Chase Mills, was charged by state police with three felonies and three misdemeanors Friday afternoon, including first-degree sexual abuse for forcible compulsion, second-degree burglary, first- and second-degree criminal contempt, fourth-degree criminal mischief for preventing an emergency call and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.
Police said Mr. Maslins ex-girlfriend and the mother of four of his children Melissa M. Pitts, 25, of 14 Remington Ave., Norfolk, reported to police that Mr. Maslin went to her house uninvited, took her phone away so she couldnt call the police, blocked her from leaving the house and forced her to do some sort of sexual act.
Police said that when troopers arrived, Mr. Maslin couldnt be found. One of the troopers checked Ms. Pittss residence again on Feb. 28 to see if Mr. Maslin was there, but she told the trooper Mr. Maslin wasnt there.
According to police, however, Mr. Maslin was found in the basement after Ms. Pitts allowed police to search her house.
Ms. Pitts was charged with second-degree obstruction of governmental administration and second-degree criminal contempt.
Mr. Maslin is being held at St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $20,000 bail. Both he and Ms. Pitts are scheduled to appear in Town Court.
