MASSENA: Dolly L. Poupore, 87, of N. Racquette River Road, passed away on March 9, 2014 at the Massena Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She had been a resident of the St. Regis Nursing Home for the past two years. Friends and family may be received on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Phillips Memorial Home in Massena. A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 12:00 pm at Church of Sacred Heart with Rev. Donald J. Manfred presiding. Interment will be held in the spring in Calvary Cemetery. Dolly was born on April 26, 1926in Ellenburg Corners, NY the daughter of Clarence and Laura (Monette) Bond. She married Richard C. Poupore on October 25, 1945 at St. Edmund’s Church in Ellenburg, NY. Mr. Poupore predeceased her on September 12, 1996. At one time she worked at Head Start as an aide and in earlier years she worked at Ozone Slipper Factory in Bombay, NY. Dolly is survived by her children Clarence and Carol of Rochester, John and Celia of Syracuse, Ricky and Suzanne of Hamlin, NY, Glenn and Tracy of Rochester, Richard and Julia of Massena, Constance and Edward Gardiner of Kingston, Ont., Madonna Guilbeault of Massena, Geraldine and David Atkinson of Fishkill, NY Laurie and Robert Shantie, of Massena, Kimberly and Michael Brannen of Massena, a daughter in-law Rhonda (Richer) Poupore of Massena, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren, also surviving Dolly are her siblings, Irlene Manor of Marango, OH, Donald Bond of Plattsburgh, Richard “Gary” and Lynda Bond of Plattsburg, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Anthony on December 1, 2013 and a daughter Natalie McDonald on April 16, 2001. Those wishing to make memorial contributions may do so to Hospice & Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley of American Cancer Society.
