HEUVELTON — State police on Monday charged Irl D. Hasty, 54, of 53 Lee Drive, with second-degree criminal contempt.

Troopers allege that Mr. Hasty violated an order of protection issued Sunday. Mr. Hasty was arrested and charged by St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies Sunday morning for allegedly shoving his wife, Cynthia Hasty, and damaging property inside the residence during the dispute.

On Monday, Ms. Hasty filed a complaint with troopers alleging that Mr. Hasty approached her at the Amvets in Heuvelton and started a conversation with her about his arrest.

Mr. Hasty was arraigned in Morristown and sent to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $500 cash bail.
