Alice Joyce McNulty, 87, of Malone, passed away Monday night, March 10, 2014, at the Franklin County Nursing Home, in Malone, with her loving family at her bedside. She had been a resident there since September 2006.
Born in Ogdensburg, N.Y., Nov. 28, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ola Raymo OBrien. She attended schools in Ogdensburg and graduated from St. Lawrence State Hospital School of Nursing, in Ogdensburg, in 1948.
On Aug. 31, 1951, she was united in marriage to Jerome J. McNulty in Ogdensburg. He survives.
Joyce worked as a Registered Nurse in Watertown, Massena, Malone, Albany and Sidney, N.Y. She retired many years ago.
She was a communicant of St. Josephs Church, and was a member of the St. Lawrence State Hospital Nurses Association. She enjoyed reading, cooking and jigsaw puzzles.
Along with her husband, Jerome, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Jeffrey Rosenfield of Malone, and Elizabeth and James Williams of Monson, Mass.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerome and Kathy McNulty of Clay, N.Y., and Thomas and Kathleen McNulty of Latham, N.Y.; one half-sister, Donna Patnode and her husband Harold of Lady Lake, Fla.; five grandchildren, David and James Williams and Megan, Christian and Lia McNulty; and two great-granddaughters, Frida and Sophy Williams.
Besides her father, Edward OBrien, she was predeceased by her step-father, Hubert Sovie; her mother, Ola Raymo OBrien Sovie; and one sister, Virginia June Chapel.
Calling hours will be Friday from 9 until 10:40 a.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, at 11 a.m. at St. Josephs Church, in Malone. Burial will be in St. Josephs Cemetery on the Lake Titus Road, in Malone, in the spring.
Donations may be made in her memory to the American Alzheimers Foundation.
